Deckberry Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Deckberry is a flashcard study app for iOS and Android, operated by Onur Ozgur OZKAN, trading as Deckberry (“Deckberry”, “we”, “us”), based in the United Kingdom. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Deckberry mobile app or the deckberry.com website (together, the “service”).

By creating an account, studying a deck, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

For any question about these terms, contact us at hello@deckberry.com.

The short version

1. The service

Deckberry is a spaced-repetition flashcard app. You study decks made of different card types, and the app schedules reviews so that material comes back just before you would forget it. Decks can be downloaded to your device for offline study.

We work hard to keep the service available and the content accurate, but Deckberry is a study aid, not a certified source: we do not guarantee that any card is error-free or that the service will be available at all times.

2. Accounts

You can use Deckberry without registering — the app creates an anonymous account so your study progress can sync. You can later link that account to an email address, or sign in with Google or Apple.

3. Your licence to our content

All decks, cards, and other content we provide through the service (including text, images, and audio) belong to Deckberry or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and study this content through the Deckberry app and website, for your own individual learning. That includes downloading decks to your own device for offline study.

This licence does not transfer any ownership to you. In particular, you may not:

If you stop using Deckberry or your account is closed, this licence ends.

4. Acceptable use

Beyond the content rules above, you agree not to:

5. Your content

Some features let you submit content to us — currently, deck ratings. You keep ownership of what you submit, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and improve the service (for example, showing a deck’s average rating). Don’t submit anything unlawful or abusive; we may remove submissions that are.

6. Purchases

When paid content or subscriptions are offered, all payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. We never receive your payment card details. Billing, cancellation, and refunds follow the rules of the store you purchased through; statutory rights you have under UK consumer law are unaffected.

7. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Deckberry at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you materially breach these terms — for example, by bulk-extracting or redistributing content — or where we must do so by law. Where reasonable, we will warn you first. Sections 3 (licence restrictions), 8, 9, and 10 survive the end of this agreement.

8. Educational content, not professional advice

Deckberry content is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not medical, legal, financial, tax, or any other kind of professional advice, and studying it is no substitute for consulting a qualified professional — before acting on anything in these areas, check with a professional or the official source.

Content may contain errors or become outdated over time: laws, tax rates and deadlines, scientific understanding, and other facts change. As set out in section 9, the service and its content are provided “as is” — we do not guarantee that any deck or card is accurate, complete, or up to date, and the limits on our liability in section 9 apply to decisions you make in reliance on the content.

In the future, some decks may be created and published by third-party creators through a Deckberry marketplace. Responsibility for the content of such decks rests with the creator who publishes them.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service and its content are provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, and we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, or that result from events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you use the service for private, non-commercial purposes (which is what it is for), we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.

If you believe content available through Deckberry infringes your copyright, email hello@deckberry.com with: a description of the work, where the allegedly infringing content appears in the service, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorized. We will review and, where justified, remove the content.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves — for example, when new features launch. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, give you notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute — although if you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your home nation’s courts, and mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain yours.
